WHY CHOOSE NEW ZEALAND MANUKA HONEY?
In recent years, our dedicated team at THE ORCHARD visited a variety of honey farms in Australia and New Zealand. After careful consideration, we chose to work closely with DownUnder Honey, a New Zealand company dedicated to producing honey that’s ‘pure, natural and trusted’. The owner, Jason Prior, was delighted to work with DIGISTAR Malaysia as an entry point to both the Asian and Arab markets.
DownUnder Honey is a family owned and operated business located in the Manawatu area, near Cheltenham in New Zealand. Four hours’ drive from Auckland, Manawatu is the perfect place to source nature’s goodness. Carefully extracted from hundreds of hives in clean, modern premises, their honey is produced under registration from the NZ Food Safety Risk Management Programme (RMP) based on international Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) controls. We guarantee it’s still ‘pure, raw and natural’ when it reaches you, our customer.
Importantly, all THE ORCHARD’s Manuka Honey contains the organic compound methylglyoxal within the range of 125 MGO to 263 MGO. MGO derives from the conversion of dihydroxyacetone (DHA), found in a high concentration in the nectar of Manuka flowers. Once DHA converts to MGO, it becomes Manuka honey’s ‘magic ingredient’, with well-documented antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.
