DownUnder honey is sourced from a family owned and operated farm located in the Manawatu district near Cheltenham, New Zealand. Owner Jason Prior operates hives over a hundred sites in partnership with local landowners and farmers.

Both Manuka and Rosensky honeys are produced under very strict conditions to ensure all our products are pure and certified organic. Many inferior brands of honey add adulterant sweeteners such as cane sugar, beet sugar, corn syrup, high fructose or maltose syrup. But we add nothing to our honey and use no unnatural processing methods. We are currently in the process of obtaining our halal certification.

Honey is one of the easiest things in your pantry to store. Simply keep it in a cool location away from direct sunlight and in a tightly sealed container. It’s recommended that you use the original container the honey came in, though any glass jar or food-safe plastic container will work. It’s not necessary to store honey in the refrigerator. In fact, it’s not recommended, because refrigerated honey will harden and be more difficult to manage.

Over time, natural honey will crystallise, and air bubbles may rise to the top of the jar, causing the thicker, swirly white layer to form. This process is a sign that the honey has been processed naturally, without the addition of any artificial sugars and packaged without heating.

Honey is a natural product, influenced by all kinds of botanical variables, such as seasonal and regional conditions. As well, colour will be influenced by the particular flowers in season when the nests and hives were harvested. Some conditions produce paler honey, others much darker. Like a good wine, honey will grow in flavour and darken with age.

There are many reasons why Rosensky Stingless Bee honey is relatively expensive. Rosensky honey is far healthier than regular honey in many ways. It has a much lower sugar content and no added sweeteners of any kind. It is twice as nutritious as common honey, containing many essential vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, and FOSs (fructooligosaccharides, which don’t raise blood sugars), as well as minerals such as potassium, zinc, phosphorus, calcium, sodium, magnesium, sulphur, copper, iron and manganese. In fact, Rosensky honey contains almost two hundred recorded health-giving compounds, which impart Rosensky’s multiple health benefits, including helping decrease the risk of cancer development.

Because stingless bee honey is low in sugar – with a glycaemic index almost three and a half times lower than other honeys – it has a much less cloying taste than the honey you may be used to. That’s good news for those who don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but also good news for your health, as Rosensky contains virtually no glucose, only fructose from fruit nectars. This gives our honey a distinct, tangy sweetness, bursting with flavour.

Stingless bee honey around the world has a higher water content, between 20-40%, about twice that of regular honey. Many stingless bee honey producers use desiccation or pasteurisation processes to reduce this moisture, but at THE ORCHARD, we maintain real raw honey. We do not use any unnatural processes, nor add any sugar or sucrose.

Rosensky honey begins life as nectar from plants, collected by our bees, then stored and ripened in their ‘pots’ and hives. Their honey is rich in natural fructose, with a lower glycaemic index that should not acutely raise blood glucose. It’s also much lower in natural glucose than regular honey. However, we strongly advise diabetics consult their healthcare professional before consuming the honey.

Nectar from plants is the sugar source for honey. It is collected by bees, stored and ripened in the hive. The resulting honey is rich in natural fructose and glucose. We strongly advise diabetics consult their healthcare professional before consuming honey.

Look for your shipping confirmation to track your parcel. All our orders are sent via a tracked shipping service and you will receive an email with your tracking number as soon as your package leaves our warehouse. Usually, parcels leave the warehouse within three days of you placing your order, but occasionally this can take up to one week. Unfortunately, if you find that there are duties or taxes owing once your products are held by customs in your country, we CANNOT accept returns. This is due to a strict biosecurity measure that requires returned honey to be destroyed.

For shipping within West Malaysia, it will take 1 – 3 business days to be delivered to your destination.
